UNITE HERE ENDORSES DAN KOH
Peabody, MA – Today, UNITE HERE announced its endorsement of Dan Koh in the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District primary. UNITE HERE, a North American labor union, represents roughly 300,000 workers in the hotel, gaming, food service, laundry, and airport industries.
“UNITE HERE represents working people across New England, and we know that strong communities are built on good union jobs, fair wages, safe workplaces, and the freedom for workers to organize and have a voice on the job,” said Warren Pepicelli, Joint Board Manager/International Executive V.P. “We need leaders in Congress who understand the challenges facing working families and who will stand with workers in the fight for economic opportunity and dignity. We are confident that Dan Koh will be a strong ally for organized labor and a tireless advocate for the working people of the Sixth Congressional District. He understands that creating good union jobs, protecting workers rights, and investing in our communities are essential to building a stronger future for everyone. The UNITE HERE – New England Joint Board is proud to endorse Dan Koh for Congress, and we look forward to working alongside him to advance the interests of working people and their families throughout the Sixth Congressional District and beyond.”
In response, Koh expressed his gratitude for the endorsement, emphasizing his commitment to defending the rights and dignity of the workers who keep the Sixth District's communities running.
"I'm honored to have the endorsement of UNITE HERE," Koh said. "These hardworking people show up every day for their communities, and they deserve a Representative who shows up for them. This administration has gone after the workers who keep our economy running — undermining their right to organize and gutting the protections that keep them safe on the job. I'm running to fight back against those attacks. I'm grateful to have UNITE HERE on our team, and I look forward to fighting alongside them for the wages, safety, and dignity every worker in the Sixth District deserves."
Koh’s campaign has gained critical momentum thanks to over 100 endorsements from local and national elected officials and community leaders, union locals, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Secretary Pete Buttigieg, while raising a record-breaking $4.5M+ since launch, a record for an MA House candidate.
