DAN KOH ENDORSED BY INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL 4
Andover, MA – Today, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 4 announced their endorsement of Dan Koh in his bid for Congress in Massachusetts’ 6th Congressional District. IUOE Local 4 is one of the largest construction unions in the state, and represents over 5,000 workers in Eastern Massachusetts and throughout New England.
“Dan Koh will be an effective advocate and fighter for working families on Day 1,” said Michael Bowes, business manager of IUOE Local 4. “He stands with union members, and is the person that we need representing us in Washington, D.C. He understands and has advocated on key issues that matter to working people in his district and beyond – like safety, job training opportunities, and fair wages for an honest day’s work. He believes in building our communities the right way – with project labor agreements and apprenticeship opportunities. He supports investing in infrastructure and other improvements to our cities and towns that also help create jobs for local residents. For these reasons and more, we are thrilled to be endorsing him.”
“I am profoundly thankful for the endorsement of Operating Engineers Local 4,” Koh said. “This union and their families are the foundation of our Massachusetts communities. Regrettably, they are increasingly compelled to leave these very communities because of escalating housing costs, rising childcare and healthcare expenses, and even hate-fueled aggression aimed at our immigrant neighbors.”
“Massachusetts needs leaders who will fight to make our communities more affordable, the right to free speech and to organize, and the opportunity to build a better life for our kids and our neighbors.”
“These times demand leaders who are not only willing to fight but also know how to win. I possess the experience to confront Trump, defend our values, and, most importantly, win. With the support of IUOE Local 4 and working families across Massachusetts, I will achieve this as the next Member of Congress for the 6th District.”
IUOE LOCAL 4 represents more than 5,000 heavy equipment operators, apprentices, mechanics, surveyors, equipment house employees and wastewater technicians throughout Eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.
