AFSCME COUNCIL 93 ENDORSES DAN KOH

Andover, MA – Today, the American Federation of State, County, Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 93 announced their endorsement of Dan Koh in the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District primary. AFSCME Council 93 represents more than 45,000 state, county and municipal employees in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.

“The 2026 midterm elections and the two years that follow will be a turning point for our nation. For us, simply maintaining and growing congressional seats held by supporters of labor and working families is a good start, but it’s not enough. We need to fill as many of those seats as possible with people who will aggressively and vocally fight against policies and initiatives that place the needs of billionaires and corporations ahead of middle-class America. We are confident we have found such a man in Dan Koh and we look forward to his victory in the primary, and ultimately, in the general election,” said AFSCME Council 93 Executive Director Mark Bernard.

In response, Koh expressed his gratitude for the endorsement, emphasizing his passion for union rights and serving working families.

"I’m honored to have this endorsement from Council 93," Koh said. “These hard working individuals are the backbone of our public services. They’re brave educational professionals, corrections officers, airport employees – and that just scratches the surface. These members deserve a leader in Congress who will fight for their union freedoms and protect their jobs from Trump’s reckless cuts to the public sector. I’ve spent my career fighting for working families. I’m looking forward to continuing this work with Council 93 on my side.”

Koh’s campaign has gained critical momentum thanks to over 60 endorsements from local and national community leaders, union locals, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Secretary Pete Buttigieg, while raising a record-breaking $2M+ in its first fundraising quarter, a record for an MA House candidate.
