MAIL HANDLERS UNION LOCAL 301 ENDORSES DAN KOH
Andover, MA – Today, the National Postal Mail Handlers Union (NPMHU) Local 301 announced their endorsement of Dan Koh in the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District primary. Members of Local 301 work to support the mission and goals of the U.S. Postal Service at the Middlesex/Essex Processing and Distribution Center in North Reading. They ensure residents of Massachusetts receive Social Security checks, tax returns, necessary medications, government correspondence, packages, and letters from loved ones.
"[We] fully endorse Dan Koh’s election to the U.S. House of Representatives for the Sixth District of Massachusetts. Throughout his time at the City of Boston and the Department of Labor, Mr. Koh has repeatedly shown himself to be a champion of working class men and women, the same dedicated men and women represented by NPMHU Local 301. We look forward to working with him to promote a sustainable Postal Service that protects its workforce," said Daniel St. Marie, NPMHU Local 301 President.
In response, Koh emphasized his long career spent defending union rights and advocating for working families.
"I’m grateful to have this endorsement from Local 301," Koh said. “Mail carriers connect our region to the world. Rain or shine, these brave men and women work hard to consistently and safely deliver our mail. President Trump has attacked the U.S. Postal Service – threatening to privatize mail delivery, reducing mail services, and cutting thousands of jobs. These people deserve a leader in Congress who will fight for their benefits and wages, not recklessly cut them. I have the experience and fight necessary to deliver for these working families.”
Koh’s campaign has gained critical momentum thanks to over 60 endorsements from local and national community leaders, union locals, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Secretary Pete Buttigieg, while raising a record-breaking $2M+ in its first fundraising quarter, a record for an MA House candidate.
