Protecting Democracy
Protecting Democracy
Trump and his allies are an existential threat to our democracy and it’s up to all of us to stand up to this Administration. We can safeguard our democracy by removing money from politics and protecting voter rights.
I will never accept money from corporate PACs.
I refuse to take corporate PAC money – during the campaign and once elected – and will be a steadfast champion for cleaning up our democracy. As a Congressman, I will vote for the Democracy for All Amendment, which will overturn Citizens United and remove the disproportionate power of dark money in politics. I will answer to you, not to corporations.
We need to stop Members of Congress from enriching themselves through insider trading.
Members of Congress should serve their constituents, not their bottom line. I will vote to ban stock trading in Congress.
We need to make voting easier, not harder in America.
I am in favor of the Freedom to Vote Act, which would expand early voting access, mandate mail-in ballots in every state, implement automatic voter registration as well as same-day voter registration and online voter registration, and make sure that voting lines do not last longer than 30 minutes, among many other protections.
By rejecting corporate PAC money, banning stock trading, and instituting common-sense reforms that increase voter turnout, I will fight to protect our democracy.
