I am the parent of two young children, and it is horrifying that active shooter drills have become a part of American childhood. The loss of any life to gun violence is unacceptable.

• I was proud that we passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act in the Biden Administration, but that was only a first step.

• Massachusetts has shown that strong and common-sense gun safety laws save lives, and we need to bring that approach nationwide.

• I support an assault weapons ban, universal background checks, and red flag laws.

I will not stop working until every family is safe from gun violence.
